What to Expect

When you visit our office, you will be warmly welcomed and we can answer any questions you may have about completing the paperwork so that Stones River Eye Center may see you. Our team will work together to evaluate your eyes and provide relevant eye care treatment information, review your vision benefits and payment options, fit you for glasses or contact lenses, and focus on exceeding all of your expectations. If at any time you have questions about the process or your specific health information, please ask.

Appointments and Office Procedures

Office visits are by appointment only and can be scheduled by calling 615-896-2551 during our normal business hours. We are a provider for Medicare and accept assignment on Medicare claims.

Some insurance companies require prior authorization and many require a referral from your primary care provider. It is the patient’s responsibility to obtain the necessary referral before their appointment with Dr. Ranz.

If you have questions about what your insurance requires, or what services you may expect your insurance to cover, please feel free to discuss this with our office personnel. They will be happy to help if they are familiar with your insurance plan. For patients not covered by insurance, payment will be expected at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made.

Certain situations may require a need for a second opinion. Please feel free to discuss this with Dr. Ranz. He will be happy to arrange a consultation or referral to another specialist.

If you have an emergency, call our office at any time. An eye emergency is any sudden blurring or loss of vision, an injury to the eye, a foreign body in the eye, or an extremely red and painful eye. Dr. Ranz gives emergencies priority treatment. If the office is closed, our answering service will either contact Dr. Ranz or refer you to the doctor taking emergency calls.

I've been seeing Dr P for years as I have some eye issues that started when I was 38. Dr P has always been very professional and takes time to explain in detail all issues regarding your eye exam. I have always been treated very well and have been well informed of any changes in vision and eye disease's that are affecting my eyes and vision. The staff is always very professional and they ask frequently about your comfort especially when you're doing special testing of your eyes. They all have your care in mind and take extra care with you and your vision.

Payment Options

Stones River Eye Center believes in providing the best value for you and your family. We have products and pricing that aims to accommodate all budgets and our office participates in most insurance programs. For patients who have little or no vision insurance coverage, flexible payment programs may be arranged. To learn more about our payment options, please call our office directly.
